What the Bookshelf Search Does
Scroll’s Bookshelf includes a search tool that helps you find content by keyword. You can search across all your materials using titles, authors, ISBNs, and more — whatever metadata has been included.
How to Use the Search Feature
-
Locate the Search Box
At the top of your Bookshelf, there is a search field. Type in the name of a book or keyword you want to find.
-
Recent Searches Displayed
Below the search field you’ll see your most recent search terms. Select one to quickly repeat it.
-
Specify the Search Type
You can narrow down your search by choosing where Scroll should look:
- Title — search by content title
- Author — search by author name
-
ISBN Code — search by ISBN (if available)
-
Cancel or Clear a Search
If you change your mind, use the Cancel button (or “clear”) to reset the search field and clear results. -
View Search Results
After performing a search, Scroll will show you all matching items. Each result includes:
- The cover image (thumbnail) of the content
- Which category the content belongs to
- How many instances the search term appears (if applicable)
-
Filter by Category
Optionally, you can filter results to a particular category to narrow things further.
Tips & Best Practices
- If no results show up, try broadening your search (e.g. fewer words, no punctuation).
- Double-check spelling of authors or titles—metadata needs to match.
- Use the category filter when you know the subject area or topic—it helps reduce “noise” in the results.
-
Clear your search field between searches to avoid leftover filters or search types carrying over.
